Dan's railway sleeper wall

You supplied me with 8 Dutch oak railway sleepers last month and I just wanted to send you a piccy of how we used them. I sank six 5ft x 3" x 3" fence posts into about 18" of concrete behind the railway sleepers, then found some self tapping 8" bolt screws to drill through the railway sleepers to secure.

A big thankyou to Dan for sending us a picture of his railway sleeper wall. It looks really brilliant and so much more original than brick. Reminds me of a recent visit to Polzeath, in Cornwall, where the walls going down to the sea and beach were similarly constructed of railway sleepers, and looked natural & weathered.
