Kilgraney steps from new oak railway sleepers

We used new French oak railway sleepers (250mm x 125mm profile) to create these sturdy steps on a raised patio. We decided to apply some 'Osmo UV protection oil 420 clear satin-matt' on the freshly sanded oak. It's very expensive (£56 for a 2.5 litre can) but it prevents the oak from going a silver grey, and keeps the golden oak colour. Six months on, it's still got its original colour.
