Neale has created such a beautiful raised sitting area with an outstanding view over the fields. The weathered railway sleepers blend so perfectly against the reddy brown bricks of the barn conversion, giving out the impression that they have always been there, looking out over the countryside. A real delight.

There's something very satisfying about edging a lawn or garden bed with heavy duty oak railway sleepers. It's almost similar to finishing off a much loved painting with an attractive wooden picture frame. In this case the oak railway sleepers will soon be weathered to an attractive silver grey, and will beautifully border the garden.

Wonderful pictures of your attractive railway sleeper project. The difference between the before and after photos is so striking, with the organic, curved shape of the raised bed looking like it could actually float! Delightful.

The shapes, the height, the colour... all so valuable in the journey to transform one's own garden. A big thank you.

We have supplied railway sleepers to a vast range of intriguing settings, but few have taken our breath away like Harlaxton Manor, near Grantham, now an American University. The sheer fairytale quality and extravagance of the house is breathtaking. A legacy of Victorian wealth and opulent Gothic taste. They have used oak railway sleepers to create dramatic raised areas in the middle of an old stable block. Magnificent.

It's great to see Richard's project taking shape, as it slowly changes from a chaotic construction site to an impressive finished article. In landscaping you often have to hold your nerve and remember that eventually it all ends up looking amazing. It's also interesting to see that he has used shiny galvanised 'U' shaped beams as an attractive alternative to the conventional heavyweight RSJs or I-Beams.

There is something very pleasing about the simplest of designs. Railway sleepers that are laid to create straightforward boxes rather than extravagant intricate shapes. Landscaping that is gentle rather than showy, that soothes rather than shouts at you.
