SILVERY WEATHERED RAISED POND BUILT WITH OAK RAILWAY SLEEPERS
This raised square pond has been built with new oak railway sleepers that have been stacked five layers high, and then capped with a thinner dimension of oak railway sleeper that holds in place the pond liner.

It's surprising how fast freshly cut oak railway sleepers change from golden yellow to bleached silvery grey. It's one of those unavoidable facts of life that outside timber (and hair) goes grey in the end, unless you chose to colour it with wood stain. Unsure if hairdressers would approve, though. I knew there was a reason why I lost my hair!!
